The Social or happy hour is a gathering of newcomers with no particular agenda other than providing an opportunity to meet, socialize and exchange information about Ashland. The first and susequent meetings of the Social have been well attended.
The Newcomers Wine Group is open to all Ashland, Medford, Jacksonville and nearby newcomers. They meet about once a month for a winery tour or wine tasting. Recent winery tours included Troon, Wooldridge Creek, Schmidt Family Vineyards, Red Lily and Dancin. Fall tastings will include events focused on specific varietals. There are two bridge groups, the 1st Tuesday of the month and the 4th Tuesday of the month We are looking for substitute players. We meet at 1:00 PM in members’ homes. If interested, please contact Barbara Keen at 541-552-0323.
The Men’s Breakfast group meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Breadboard Restaurant at 744 North Main St. at 8am. No reservation is needed. Just show up and look for a group of about a dozen friendly men. Pleasecontacthulteen@aol.com for additional information.
I am the hike leader of the Ashland Hiking Group. Our website is: http://ashlandhiking.org/ We now have some room on our Wednesday hikes for additional participants. If there are Newcomers who are interesting in hiking they should check the Wednesday hike descriptions to see if they are a good fit.
